overview

In 2009 the Family Housing Fund formed the nonprofit limited liability company, Twin Cities Community Land Bank LLC (“TCC Land Bank”), as a strategic tool for government, neighborhood organizations, community development corporations, and nonprofit and for-profit developers to further community-based economic development and affordable housing goals.

Building off the successful Minnesota Foreclosure Partners Council, an early collaborative and efficient approach to the regional foreclosure crisis, the Fund and its public/private partners designed and implemented this highly innovative tool to respond quickly and effectively to the challenges and opportunities of the foreclosure crisis and to further regional growth objectives linking housing, jobs, transportation, and education.

The Family Housing Fund, established in 1980, is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to produce and preserve affordable housing in the Twin Cities.  The Fund acts as an intermediary organization partnering with nonprofit housing providers, federal, state, and local government agencies, foundations and corporations, housing and mortgage industry partners, community leaders, academic and public policy institutions, and others to bring collaborative approaches to complex housing problems.
